A Brief Interlude

Hello faithful family, friends, and followers, thank you for your dedicated presence here. We want to let you all know, that after much prayer, consideration, and discussion, we’ve decided to take a brief interlude with the blog to assess its purpose and direction in the months and years ahead.
As you know, much of the blog’s history has focused on Joy’s recovery from a traumatic brain injury and our physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational journey through that process. We recognize that we are no longer in the, “recovery from traumatic brain injury phase” and are now in the “living with permanent brain damage phase.” Through the recovery phase we could report, sometimes dramatically, Joy’s gains physically and cognitively with some regularity. While Joy has progressed far and beyond what we could have imagined in the early days of the journey and while we still look for gains and improvements in this new phase, we are nonetheless, in a very different place.
We purposefully titled the blog, “The Life With Joy,” to reflect not only Joy’s life through recovery, but also to speak to our belief that life can be lived with true joy, even through the worst of circumstances, co-existing at times with the deepest heartache and heartbreak. For us this is no cliché, no Christian-speak, it has been our genuine reality through the literal blood, sweat, tears, and cheers of the last 15 months. So we want to take some prayerful time, and please join us in those prayers, to evaluate how best to use this tool and site of personal testimony for hopefully your enjoyment and encouragement and ultimately for God's glory.
At this time, our plan is to return in July, the first Friday of which is the 4th - what better way to “re-launch” our blog on that day of celebration and fireworks!
Words cannot begin to express our deep felt gratitude, appreciation, and love for all of you, our faithful followers, prayer partners, and fellow travelers. If you have any questions, suggestions, thoughts, or comments, please send us a note though our contact form.
You will continue to be in our hearts and in our prayers during this interlude and we look forward to a “joyful” return soon. We again wish you God’s love, grace, and mercy in the days and weeks ahead. Till next time…
